Major Depression Disorder is a mental disorder characterized by at least two weeks of low mood that is present across most situations. It is often accompanied by low self-esteem, loss of interest in normally enjoyable activities, low energy, and pain without a clear cause.
Our society is not well informed about depression, despite it is a very common illness. So, that problem affects directly to the patients. Suicide is also a taboo nowadays, but it is really important to speak about it as it is just the consequence of an illness. The only way to avoid suicide is to use preventive protocols and to teach everybody what depression really is and how often do those people think about killing themselves. And that is not a selfish thought, it is just a common symptom of depression.
Based on that information, I created 3 user personas with their empathy maps and user journeys, so I could understand the problem with a closer perspective.
And finally, my value proposal will be a mobile app & a robot.
Through the app, the user would be able to use a chat-bot what will check his/her mood every day, to create some weekly-monthly graphics with the changes. So the user can check what has made him/her feel good or bad. With the app, the user can also do some meditation, breathing exercises or check other experiences what could motivate him/her. Every time he/she uses the app, it learns about the user. So it will be constantly evolving to offer a better-personalised service.
