Pretotyping ventilators

DEFINITION OF PRETOTYPE.  DEFINITION OF PROTOTYPE.

How does Coronavirus relate to Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship Education? It’s all about finding minimally viable product examples.  The lesson “Pretotyping for CoronaVirus” was about “pretotyping” (pretend-prototyping), which is a step in creating a minimal viable product (MVP).  At minute 4’00”, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo talks about “Bag Valve Masks” early in the Pandemic, which leads to pretotyping of ventilators happening at that moment.   Simply put, pretotyping is the art and science of “faking it until you make it”. An actual prototype is something you produce right before you make the product. A pretotype, also known as the minimally viable product example, may fail or not even work, but it gives us information from potential customers to create a better one. As Savoia says, it helps you to “MAKE SURE YOU ARE BUILDING THE RIGHT “IT” BEFORE YOU BUILD IT RIGHT.
